Yom Kippur: Sunset Sunday, September 20, to nightfall Monday, September 21

If you have opted out of class recordings, please email  av.law@yale.edu to arrange for an individual class to be recorded on a specific religious holiday.

University Recording Policy

The University Recording Policy prohibits surreptitious recording and outlines standards regarding recording participants in classes, meetings, and university events to foster trust and free exchange of ideas. The full policy is available here.

SAS Accommodations

If a student in your course is approved for recordings as an accommodation by Student Accessibility Services (SAS), YLS Academic Affairs will contact you for recording approval. Pursuant to SAS guidance, you may only deny recordings for accommodated students if recording the course would fundamentally alter the nature of the course. Please note that if you allow recordings for students with excused absences during the semester, you must also grant approval for students with recording accommodations. For more information, please contact Marissa Cabrera (marissa.cabrera@yale.edu).

Support for Student Absences

Individual recording accommodations for students who are out sick can be requested by emailing av.law@yale.edu with the student’s name, course title, and date(s) of class. If you do not receive confirmation before your class, please call the YLS AV helpline at (203) 432-2277.

Please Note: Requests for synchronous student attendance of in-person classes via Zoom cannot be accommodated.
