Activating your NetID

NetID
All employees at Yale are provided an email address and a NetID. Your NetID is associated with a password you create. Taken together, the two are used to authorize access to Yale system resources. Once you have activated your NetID and created your password, you will be able to log into Workday and complete your onboarding tasks, login to your Yale computer, check your Yale email, and access Yale websites that require authorization.
PIN
A PIN is a single-use series of numbers and letters required to activate a Yale NetID. During the activation process, you will set a password and enter an alternate email address.
How do I activate my NetID?
Open any browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc.) and click here to visit the NetID Activation page.
Select Activate NetID
Select Faculty, Staff, or Sponsored Identity and click Next.
Enter your PIN (you received your NetID and PIN in an email message.) Note: the PIN is case sensitive.
If you can’t find your NetID and PIN information, call the YLS IT help desk at 203 432 0821 during business hours or email law.help@yale.edu.
Enter your Birth Date.
Click Next.
Enter an alternative email address and click Next.
At the prompt, create a password. Your password must meet the following requirement: 8-127 characters in length, a mix of characters, including letters, numbers, and special characters, and no dictionary words and their common substitutions.
