Setting up MFA
Yale uses the Duo application for MFA. Acceptable devices for MFA authentication include smartphones, cell phones, landlines (such as your office or home phone), tablets, or hardware tokens. The free smartphone app Duo Mobile can be downloaded from the App Store for use on your iPhone, iPad, Android, or BlackBerry device.
For device specific instructions please see Enrolling and Managing devices or Managing Your Devices from DUO.
Logging into Yale resources using DUO Everywhere
When you access Yale resources (CAS or VPN) offsite, you will first be prompted for your NetID credentials and then be prompted for an additional form of authentication. You can choose which device the authentication request is sent to and which authentication method you would like to use (Duo Mobile App, SMS text message, or phone call).
For device and application specific instructions please see Logging into VPN and MFA protected resources from off-campus.
